This command selects version 1.0.0 at its approved commit. It never follows a moving tag or branch.
Project: run from your project directory to install in .vis/extensions. This command does not add an extensions entry to vis.yml. Add --save to also record the installation. Save an installation in configuration to share the setup.
Review the source first. --trust allows extension code and build backends to run with your permissions.
vis-agent extension install \
'blockether/vis-lang-interface' \
--version '1.0.0' \
--project \
--trustThen start Vis or use /reload. Dependencies are prepared automatically.

vis-agent extension versions 'blockether/vis-lang-interface'
vis-agent extension update 'blockether/vis-lang-interface' --trust
vis-agent extension rollback 'blockether/vis-lang-interface' --trustUse the identifier shown above, not the Python package name. Add --project for a project installation. Update selects the latest approved stable version; rollback restores the previous pinned source. Choose a specific version and read the lifecycle contract.

README
vis-lang-interface
The shared contract for Vis language extensions, written in Python, plus the JSON and TOML tools it can serve on its own.
Vis knows nothing about programming languages. A language extension runs that language's own
toolchain and hands the model back a result; this package is what those results look like, so
clj.lint_code and py.lint_code read the same way and one presentation renders both.
Install
vis-agent extension install Blockether/vis-lang-interface --global --trust
That gives you two tools under the data namespace:
data.check(["config"]) # parse every JSON and TOML file under config/
data.format(["package.json"], is_written=True) # reformat JSON in place
check reports one located finding per file that does not parse. format rewrites JSON only
when you ask for it; TOML has no standard-library writer, so it is checked and never rewritten.
Building a language extension on it
Add the package as a dependency of your extension and return its result types:
dependencies = [
"vis-agent>=0.2.10",
"vis-lang-interface @ git+https://github.com/Blockether/vis-lang-interface@v1.0.0",
]
from vis_lang_interface import LintResult, process
def lint(paths):
done = process.run(["ruff", "check", "--output-format=json", *paths])
return LintResult.of("python", findings_of(done.out), files=len(paths))

The extensions that use it
- vis-lang-clojure — cljfmt, zprint, clj-kondo,
Lazytest and an nREPL, through the
clojureCLI. - vis-lang-python — ruff, pytest and a managed project REPL.
Development
vis-agent python -m pytest tests -q
